Vinay Tonse our illustrious Jesuit alumnus  from St. Joseph College of Commerce Bangalore has been appointed as Managing Director of India’s  largest bank State Bank of India (SBI).

Rev Fr.Jerome D’ Souza had his collegiate education from St.Joseph’s College Trichy and he was first Indian to hold post of Rector and Principal of St.Joseph’s College, Trichy.

It is very happy and proud moment; our illustrious Jesuit alumnus Prof.R.Narayanaswamy former Professor of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) who is my class-mate from Pre-university to B.Com from St.Joseph’s College (1976 Batch) has been appointed as the chairman of the high powered Committee constituted by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to study about – Expected Credit Loss (ECL) frame working for banks. Hearty congratulations to Prof.R.Narayanaswamy

South Zone JAAI GC Meeting was hosted by Alumni of Loyola Public School, Guntur, on 1st and 2nd October 2023.

St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangalore, which is stepping into the 144 th year, launched today on 2nd October 2023, Gandhi Jayanti day, an innovative 4 months duration Diploma Course in "Integrated Agriculture and Organic Farming Methods" at the 164 year old District Prison, Mangalore.

This would be followed by other trades in self employment to help the prison inmates earn a dignified and decent living after their release from prison.

The Principal Rev Dr Praveen Martis SJ and Director of the St Aloysius College Alumni Association SACAA, in his address explained about the objectives and Course content. He was accompied by Dr Alwyn D'Sa Registrar and also SACAA Executive Committee member, Prof.Edmund Frank JAAI Vice President who is actively involved with prison activities since the last ten years and Mr Glavin Rodrigues, Course Coordinator. All are Alumni of St Aloysius College.

St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangalore and St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA) in association with Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) Medical College and hospital organised a day long free medical camp for the teaching and non teaching staff of St Aloysius Institutions in -- General Screening, Dental Check up, Dermatology, Oncology, and Optholmology on 20 September 2023 at the Sahodaya hall.

Incidentally Dr Abdullah Kunhi Hon'able Chancellor of the Yenepoya University is an Alumnus of St Aloysius College.

St Aloysius Prakashana, the publishing unit of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore published a book titled, “Pride of Kanara; True Son of India, Fr Jerome D’Souza SJ” on 7 August 2023 at the Eric Mathias Hall. The book is authored by Prof. Edmund Frank, Dean, PGDBM at St Aloysius College, Mangalore. He is also the Vice President of the Federation of the Jesuit Alumni Associations of India and former President of St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA)

The Bishop of Mangalore Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, released the book at the Eric Mathias Hall before a large audience. A portrait of Fr Jerome D’Souza was also unveiled by the Bishop. This portrait will be installed in the College Museum.

A book titled 'Pride of Kanara; True Son of India, Fr Jerome D’Souza SJ' will be released on August 7 at 3.00 pm at the Eric Mathias Hall, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. This book is authored by Prof Edmund Frank, dean, PGDBM, at St Aloysius College. The book is published by St Aloysius Prakashana, Mangaluru.
