St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous) Mumbai has been awarded the College of Excellence (CE) by the University Grants Commission for the period April 2014 to March 2019.

Excellence of an academic institution involves reaching outstanding levels of performance in teaching, research and related academic pursuits and attaining peerless position in the areas offered for study and research. Excellence was achieved in stages through a process of continuous improvement in content and quality of the pursuits. A dedicated academic community and adequate infras tructural facilities are essential ingredients of excellence. The College of Excellence status was awarded based on a score of more than 3.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) awarded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
