On October 6, 2023, the Raiganj Old Xaverians Association (ROXA) played a pivotal role in ensuring water facilities at two specific locations during the Inter House Marathon ‘2023, an intra-school event hosted by St. Xavier’s School, Raiganj.

The primary objective of this event was to encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the school’s students. It encompassed various categories and distances, with students from different houses engaging in friendly competition.

ROXA, serving as the school’s alumni association, actively supported this initiative by providing essential water services at two key points along the marathon route. These locations were meticulously chosen to guarantee participants had access to hydration throughout the race.

The success of ROXA’s involvement hinged on the dedication of its alumni volunteers. These volunteers efficiently established water stations, oversaw the distribution of water, and maintained cleanliness and orderliness in the designated areas. Their unwavering commitment to the event’s triumph was truly commendable.

In the early stages of its formation, it is essential for an alumni association to establish a visible presence within the school community, including students and staff. The effectiveness of such an association relies on a collaborative relationship with the educational institution. ROXA, having convened its inaugural meeting on May 1, 2023, has proven to be an efficient and effective collaborator with the school on various fronts.
