DOX Members and their families hosted the Youth Exchange Team members and their Mentor Teachers at their homes while at Ranchi, during their two-week trip to India. Dr. Devendra Singh hosted two teachers Mr. Xavier and Mr. Laurens; while Gaurav Maheshwari, Mr. Panjwani and Mr. Jasmeet Kalsi, Mr. Modi and Mr. Chaudhury hosted two students each. Likewise three more Doranda Old Xaverians hosted another six Belgian guests.

A night with the DOX Families (10.04.2015) gave the visiting Belgian friends an insight on the Indian Culture, Lifestyle and Societal Value Systems. They also studied the various religious belief systems of India while with us. All families shared mementos and pleasantries with the guests.

St. Xavier’s School, Doranda was the Prime Host for them at Ranchi. The guests were treated to the best hospitality upon arrival; and on the next day too at the School. They attended the School Assembly, interacted with the students of Class 12, shared their career plans, visited the Outreach Program Villages and Slums adopted by St.
Xavier’s School, Doranda and also spent a night at the Boys’ Town run by the Jesuit Missionaries. They examined and appreciated our education system and the formal school assembly which is held every day.

On the evening of 10th April 2015, the Begian Students and Teachers staying with DOX Families were invited to the DOX Regular Meeting where they were felicitated and a fruitful cultural interaction of 90 minutes was held.

The team of 25 Students and 4 Mentors left with an enriching, memorable and eye-opening experience for Kolkata, whereafter they flew back to Belgium through Mumbai.
DOX Members and JAAI-CZ President and Secretary were available throughout the visit.
