DORANDA OLD XAVERIANS (DOX), in collaboration with SPIC-MACAY (The Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music, Art and Culture Amongst Youth) organized a One-Hour Show Titled “DRUMS OF MANIPUR”, followed by the informal “Convergence and Synergy Meet”.

This event showcased the vigorous-yet-classical Manipuri Dance Form, led by the Ustad Bismillah Khan National Classical Cultural Awardee “SINAM BASU SINGH” and his troupe of eight performers.

Among the audience were the management committees of various Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, Jaycees Clubs, Round Table Chapters, Grand Lodge of India, Lakshyam, Federation of Jharkhand Chambers of Commerce & Industries, Marwari Yuva Manch, Life Savers, International Library & Cultural Centre and Maheshwari Sabha on one side and the students of St. Xaviers’ School Doranda’s Outreach Program, the students of Akshay Charitable Trust Kanke, the students of Anurag Singh Charitable Trust Doranda, and the students of Adim Jaati Seva Mandal, Niwaranpur on the other side.

The objective of the program was to bring the “Donor Institutions” and the “Recipients of Grants” on one common platform; and converge and synergize the strengths of all bodies for larger and more focussed social benefit. While the presentations of the troupe were of world class, the participating Institutions had the opportunity to
informally interact and converge & synergize. The purpose of assimilation of resources and breaking-the-ice has been met successfully.

The entire audience were treated to a sumptuous snack-pack before departure.
