Raiganj, September 14, 2023 – St. Xavier’s School, Raiganj, marked a significant milestone as it is celebrating its Silver Jubilee year with an exciting inter-school football tournament that brought together talent, sportsmanship, and a sense of unity. The event, held on the 13th and 14th of September, 2023, at the school’s own grounds, was a testament to the school’s enduring commitment to excellence in both academics and sports.

The tournament featured eight enthusiastic teams, each vying for the coveted championship title. The participants exhibited exemplary skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the competition, creating an electrifying atmosphere on the field.

After two days of intense matches, St. Thomas School, Rahutara, emerged as the triumphant champions, claiming the championship trophy. Their journey to victory was filled with exciting moments and exceptional game play that captivated the audience.

However, the home team, St. Xavier’s School, Raiganj, had their own moment to shine as they secured the second runners-up position. Their performance showcased the dedication and hard work they had put into the tournament, earning them a well-deserved place on the podium.

Behind the scenes, the Raiganj Old Xaverian Association (ROXA) played a pivotal role in ensuring the tournament’s success. They handled refreshments, medical support (including first aid), and the award ceremonies with utmost professionalism and dedication. Their support added an extra layer of organization and care to the event.

A highlight of the celebration was the presence of the guest of honor, Shri Ripan Baul, DSP (Headquarters), Raiganj District Police. His presence added prestige to the event and underscored the importance of sports in fostering community bonds and promoting discipline among the youth.
