On 30th September 2024, members of the Alumni Association of XISS (AAXISS), along with the Assistant Director of XISS, Dr. Fr. Pradeep Kerketta S.J., visited the rural camp of PGDRM students at “Narayayan Soso” village in Angara Block of Rural Ranchi. The students have been camping in this village for the past eight days as part of their course curriculum to understand the rural community and socio-economic condition of villagers.

They were warmly welcomed by the camp supervisor and senior professor, Dr. Niranjan Sahoo, and the students. Following this, members of the Alumni Association, Sri Jasbir Khurana (Vice-chairman, AAXISS) and Sri Himalay (Joint Secretary, AAXISS), interacted and discussed with the students about their learning and experiences. They emphasized the professional importance of these camps in understanding and working efficiently and effectively in rural settings.

Fr. Pradeep added that rapport building is the first stage of learning, and students must do it properly to understand the rural community and social dynamics. During the interaction, students shared the challenges and valuable experiences they encountered during the camp.

At the end, Prof. Dr. Niranjan Sahoo extended a vote of thanks to the alumni delegation and Father Pradeep Kerketta S.J., Assistant Director of XISS, for their valuable insights.
