Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, in association with the Alumni Association of XISS (AAXISS), Sadar Hospital, Ranchi, and the Rotaract Club of Social Revolution (RCSR), organised a Blood Donation Camp on the campus on Monday 28th September 2026.

The initiative received an encouraging response, with 102 units of blood donated by faculty members, staff, students, families of the XISS fraternity and other voluntary donors.

The camp commenced with a prayer led by Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS.
Fr Ignatius Lakra SJ, Province Coordinator for Alumni (PCA), Ranchi Province, described blood donation as a noble act of self-giving and sacrifice, encouraging donors to continue contributing towards saving lives.

The camp was attended by Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director; Fr Ashok Kandulna SJ, Finance Officer; Dr Amar E. Tigga, Dean Academics; Mr. Purushottam Kumar, Director NIC Ranchi, Mr. Paresh Goshal, Heads of Programmes; faculty members, staff, students, and other members of the extended XISS community.

The AAXISS Ranchi Chapter played an active role in coordinating the initiative and motivating members of the XISS community to participate. Jasbir Singh Khurana, Vice Chairman AAXISS & Chairman JAAI-Central Zone, Mr Himalay, Jt. Secretary AAXISS and Vice Chairman JARP; Mr Joy Beck, Mr GVS Shastri (SEWA), and other representatives contributed to the smooth conduct of the camp.
