A Program co-sponsored by Jesuit Alumni Associations of Kerala (JAAK) was held on 23 July 2026 at Loyola College of Social Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram.

S. Janaki was one of India’s most celebrated and versatile playback singers, renowned for her extraordinary voice, emotional depth, and remarkable ability to sing in numerous Indian languages.

Over a career spanning several decades, she has recorded thousands of songs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and many other languages, earning immense admiration from audiences and musicians alike.

Popularly known as the “Nightingale of South India,” she is admired for her expressive singing style, flawless pronunciation, and ability to adapt to a wide variety of musical genres. Her immense contribution to Indian cinema has been recognized with several prestigious honors, including multiple National Film Awards.

Through her timeless melodies and unforgettable performances, S. Janaki has left an enduring legacy and continues to inspire generations of singers and music lovers across the world.
