APX alumni celebrate Independence and Environment day
The Association of Past Xavierites ( APX ), the alumni association of St.Xavier's High School Loyola Hall ( Ahmedabad ) carried out and participated in 2 events.
The tree plantation drive and environment day was celebrated by the school on 9th Aug, and APX members participated in this. Students gave a strong eco-social message through skits and songs. A lecture was delivered on the importance of this event by the dignitaries present and saplings were planted. many saplings and trees were brought to the campus to be planted, generously given by students, parents, staff and alumnus.
On 15th Aug, APX members were present along with the students, staff and management and guests for the Flag hoisting. After this and the patriotic songs sung by the students, the annual APX vs the school team football match was staged on the school grounds. The match was witnessed by many and refreshments were served after the match.
On 18th Aug, the Jesuit Priests if the Gujarat Province got together at the St.Xavier's High School Loyola hall to celebrate their 200 years of the restoration. It was a day long event, and the JAAG ( Jesuit Alumni Associations of Gujarat ) members paid their respects and tribute to the respected Jesuits. Each Jesuit was given a traditional shawl, and the mementos and bookmarks were also contributed by JAAG. The Jesuits were appreciated and thanked and were pledged total and unconditional support by JAAG. The Gujarat Province Coordinator Rev. Fr. Charles Aruldass SJ also appreciated the efforts of JAAG and the members as well the Jesuits across the Province for the positive interaction. The Provincial and Province Coordinator, and also the hosts and the organizing committee for this event were grateful in allocating some time to the alumni/ae to enable them to show their gratitude to the esteemed and respected Priests.
