Empowering Future Leaders: HyFyXs Organizes Vocational Guidance Session for 10th & 12th Grade Students

The Holy Family High School & Jr. College Ex-Students' Association (HyFyXs), Mumbai successfully hosted an interactive vocational guidance session for students and parents of the 10th and 12th grades. The session, which took place on 26th September 2024, was led by renowned career counselor Ms. Shailaja Mulay, who has been guiding Holy Family students for over 22 years.

The session commenced with a prayer led by Honorable Fr. Andrew Rodrigues, Principal of Holy Family High School & Jr. College. He offered valuable insights on the importance of vocational guidance and later introduced the esteemed career counselor, Ms. Shailaja Mulay, to the students and parents.

Approximately 290 students, along with their parents, participated in the event, which is part of a comprehensive three-part vocational guidance program. The first part of the program focused on breaking the ice and fostering an interactive discussion between students, parents, and the counselor. This session provided a broad overview of the vocational guidance program and the various career paths available.

To help students make informed decisions about their futures, an aptitude test, scheduled for the end of October 2024, will serve as the second part of the program. The final part will involve personalized one-on-one discussions, where students and parents will receive tailored career advice based on the results of the aptitude test.

Ahead of the interaction, students were encouraged to research potential career paths and bring their questions to the session. This proactive approach sparked enthusiastic discussions about fields such as computer engineering, defense, aviation, automobile engineering, entrepreneurship, and space exploration with organizations like NASA and ISRO.

For over two decades, HyFyXs has continued its commitment to nurturing the aspirations of Holy Family students, helping them explore diverse career opportunities and guiding them toward a bright future. As always, the session was highly informative, leaving students and parents well-equipped to navigate their career choices.
