45 colleges , 1200 student participants in the Gujarat University 2 day cultural program, zonal and inter zonal, was privileged to be chief guest for the closing ceremony and prize distribution part and coincidently another Jesuit alum Ms Lavina Sinha IPS was the chief guest for the inauguration.

Always a pleasure to be part of such programs and share experiences of our alumni movement also. Goes a long way in establishing a connect with the various stakeholders on the field of education, sports, youth & culture.

Sahibganj Old Xaverians Association (SOXA) has achieved the honor of being recognized as the 4th largest blood donor in the Sahibganj district for the year ending March 31, 2023. This remarkable accomplishment would not have been attainable without the generous contributions and support of our alumni members, teachers, students, and well-wishers.

Sahibganj Old Xaverians Association (SOXA), in collaboration with a nationwide blood donation campaign of the Jesuit Alumni Association of India (JAAI), organized a highly successful blood donation camp today at St. Xavier's School, Sahibganj. The event saw an impressive turnout of community members eager to contribute to this vital cause.

The primary objective of the blood donation camp was to address the critical need for blood and blood products in the region, while also promoting social responsibility. This initiative underscores the commitment of both SOXA and JAAI to make a positive impact on society.

Dr. Mukesh Kumar, a respected alumnus of ICSE 1994 with an MBBS degree and a distinguished medical career, graced the event as the Chief Guest. His presence added inspiration to the event, with Dr. Kumar emphasizing the importance of blood donation and sharing insights from his extensive medical experience.

Doranda Old Xaverians Association (DOX) the alumni association of St. Xavier's School, Doranda distributed 500 mosquito nets in RIMS, Sadar Hospital, Adim Jaati Seva Mandal, Premashray and Kishorenagar Outreach Society.

The nets were handed over to Director of RIMS and Civil Surgeon at Sadar Hospital.

In the coming days nets will also be distributed in Balashraya and Anita Girls School.

St. John Berchmans High School Mundli, Jharkhand, September 24th, 2023* - A wave of nostalgia and excitement swept over the alumni of St. John Berchmans High School Mundli as they gathered to celebrate the inaugural reunion of their alumni association. This historic event, hosted at the esteemed St. John Berchmans High School Mundli, was a testament to the enduring bonds forged during their school years and the vision of PCA Rev. Fr. Alban Minj SJ.

The journey to this momentous reunion began on June 23rd, 2023, with a crucial meeting attended by eight passionate alumni members. This gathering was graced by the presence of the Governing Council Member of the Jesuit Alumni Association of India (JAAI) for the Province and a Representative of the JAAI Central Zone. It was during this meeting that the association was officially christened, setting the stage for what would become a memorable reunion.

St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangalore and St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA) in association with Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) Medical College and hospital organised a day long free medical camp for the teaching and non teaching staff of St Aloysius Institutions in -- General Screening, Dental Check up, Dermatology, Oncology, and Optholmology on 20 September 2023 at the Sahodaya hall.

Incidentally Dr Abdullah Kunhi Hon'able Chancellor of the Yenepoya University is an Alumnus of St Aloysius College.

Raiganj, September 14, 2023 – St. Xavier's School, Raiganj, marked a significant milestone as it is celebrating its Silver Jubilee year with an exciting inter-school football tournament that brought together talent, sportsmanship, and a sense of unity. The event, held on the 13th and 14th of September, 2023, at the school's own grounds, was a testament to the school's enduring commitment to excellence in both academics and sports.

The tournament featured eight enthusiastic teams, each vying for the coveted championship title. The participants exhibited exemplary skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the competition, creating an electrifying atmosphere on the field.

After two days of intense matches, St. Thomas School, Rahutara, emerged as the triumphant champions, claiming the championship trophy. Their journey to victory was filled with exciting moments and exceptional game play that captivated the audience.

Not even a month has passed since it was brought to the notice of Vincentians (past students of St.Vincents High School Pune), that the brother of an past Teacher of St.Vincents, required to undergo urgent surgery to save his life.

As always, checks (investigation) were done and contact made with the teacher, a past student who knows the teacher, her brother & his medical history was confirmed.

After confirming the shortfall of funds for his treatment, it was decided to connect with our Vincentian Family to step in.

Richard Fernandes (batch of 1978) spear-headed the fund raising effort and we reached the targetted Rs.2.5 Lakh.So we announce a HARD STOP to the fund collection effort.

Surgery was successfully conducted and Keith is recovering.

We thank all the contributors and we also thank those praying for Keith. We request for continued prayers for his complete recovery post surgery.
